Our mission…

…is to inspire, motivate, and create positive changes that become daily habits. We empower individuals in our community to make healthy lifestyle changes.

Our vision…

…is a world where everyone has the knowledge to eat and live better so they optimize their quality of life.
Summer Bear provides and promotes quality education in the physical, emotional and intellectual areas of life so that balance may be achieved.

Classes are held at local stores and in homes teaching how to incorporate more fruit and vegetables in a tasty manner into your diet. Some other classes have included national and local speakers on nutrition, environmental health, herbs, gardening, Navajo Hozho/T’ai Chi, and Essene Yoga.

Summer Bear History

In 2002 my mother was sent home from the doctor to die. She had numerous health problems and was diagnosed with congenital heart failure. I had nightmares about waking up and finding her dead. Sometimes when I couldn't hear her breathing I would wake her up, just to make sure she was alive. Though making lifestyle changes by mothers health improved.

In 2007 my mother and I started this foundation because we believe that no one should lose a loved one from a disease that is preventable.

One of the most rewarding experiences is when we see the difference that lifestyle changes can make in someone's life. It is very fulfilling to see individuals then inspire and motivate others.

Summer Bear offers education and support for your lifestyle changes. We hold a food, fitness and fun retreats and our annual chefs challenge.

Summer Bear gives individuals wide and varied experiences through socials, events and activities. Some of the activities we have hosted have been and continue to be national motivational speakers, food preparation and fitness classes, potlucks, hikes, parties and camping, water rafting, and service projects such as sub for Santa.

Why a Bear?

Native Americans believe that animals have much to teach us, as they are messengers of Great Spirit. They are viewed as symbols of strength, protection, hard work, self-reflection, life and great love.

When the bear shows up in our lives it is also a symbol for play, we need to relax and allow for some creative into our lives

Bears are totem or power animals. A bear take in all available information, studies it carefully and reaches his own informed decisions based on the facts at hand.

The meaning of my family name is summer. I believe that all things can be achieved by obtaining life balance. Therefor we are Summer Bear Life Balance Education.
